To store a fire extinguisher usually inside a cabinet or inside a wall part and to quickly cope with a fire when, for instance, the fire breaks out, by immediately moving it close to the hand of a user.

The fire extinguisher storage unit 10 includes a holding body 22 for storing the fire extinguisher 12 and detection means 9 for detecting outbreak of a fire, and turns the holding body 22 to a form capable of using the fire extinguisher 12 on the basis of detection signals by the detection means 9. The holding body 22 is provided in a switchable manner to an unusable state of being housed inside a cabinet 4 or inside a wall part and making the fire extinguisher 12 invisible and a usable state of being moved out of the cabinet 4 or out of the wall part and exposing the fire extinguisher 12, and includes lock means 26 for regulating movement to the outside of the cabinet 4 or to the outside of the wall part in the unusable state. When the lock means 6 releases the regulation on the basis of the detection signals of the detection means 9, the holding body 22 is automatically moved from the unusable state and switched to the usable state.
