Title:
FIRE EXTINGUISHING DEVICE FOR PETROLEUM COMBUSTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3780781
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a fire extinguishing device for a petroleum combustor capable of stably extinguishing a fire irrespective of the burning state of the combustor.
SOLUTION: A wick 4 is vertically movably internally mounted in a gap of a wick containing cylinder 3 having a wick inner cylinder 1 and a wick outer cylinder 2. A wick cylinder 7 is rotated by a wick vertically moving unit 6 contained in an air chamber 5 adjacently out of the cylinder 3 to vertically move the wick 4. An air flow hole 8 for communicating the atmosphere through the chamber 5 is opened when burned and when emergency fire extinguished by an opening/closing valve 10 interlocked with the vertical movement of the wick 4 and normally closed when fire extinguished. During burning, the air flows into the chamber 5 to thin a mixed gas. When emergency fire extinguished in which the wick 4 is moved down below a vent port 9, the mixed gas in the chamber 5 is explosively ignited and burned, substantially simultaneously quickly fire extinguished upon falling of the wick 4. When normally fire extinguished in which the wick 4 is moved down above the port 9, and the introduction of the air into the chamber 5 is prevented to suppress vaporization of a kerosene from the wick 4 and to be naturally fire extinguished.
