Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the influence of noise caused by the contact defect of an electrode occurring in the case a fixing roller starts and stops rotating, accelerates, and decelerates.
SOLUTION: Fixed electrodes 7a and 7b are brought into contact with movable ring electrodes 6a and 6b connected to the heating element 4 of the fixing roller 1, and the heating element 4 is heated by a power source 20. When the roller 1 starts and stops rotating, accelerates and decelerates in the middle of heating, a switch driving means 22 is driven by command from a CPU so as to turn off a switch 21 and so as to temporarily stop the heating of the heating element 4, so that electromagnetic wave noise which is caused by the contact defect between the electrodes and which is easily caused in the case the fixing roller starts, stops, accelerates and decelerates is eliminated.
