To provide a fixing roller which is fast in temp. elevation, is free from toner offset and consumes less electric power.
The fixing roller 1 is constituted by laminating an insulating layer 1b and an injection molded resin resistance layer 1c on the outside surface of a cylindrical metallic substrate 1. This resin resistance layer 1c is formed to ≤2Ωcm in the volume resistivity in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical shape and for this purpose, carbon black and carbon fibers are added in combination to the resin. The resin is preferably a polyphenylene sulfide resin, polyphthalamide resin and liquid crystal polymer resin, etc. The insulating layer is preferably a resin or anodically oxidized layer constituting the resin resistance layer. Both ends of the cylindrical surface of the resin resistance layer 1c are provided with annular metallic electrodes 1d. The resin resistance layer is injection molded by using a metal mold of injection molding having a side gate structure.
