Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant epoxy resin compsn. which has a high flame retardance and an excellent resistance to soldering heat thouhg it does not contain a halogen compd. and which gives a prepreg exhibiting no tackiness at the B-stage.
SOLUTION: This compsn. essentially contains 100 pts.wt. phenol or cresol novolak epoxy resin (A), 10-70 pts.wt. epoxy resin curative (B) having amino groups, and an arom. disphosphate (C) represented by the formula (R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each independently H or lower alkyl; Y is CH2, C(CH2)2, S, SO2, O, CO, or N2; k is 0 or 1; and m is an integer of 0-4) in an amt. (in terms of phosphorus) of 0.5-5 wt.% of the sum of ingredients A and B.
