Abstract:

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition improved in flame retardancy and electrical properties (esp. electrical insulation performance) without impairing its mechanical properties by incorporating a polyolefin polymer, etc., with a halogen-based flame retardant, antimony trioxide, zinc sulfide, etc., at specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of an olefin polymer (e.g. PE, PP, etc.) or its blend with a halogen-contg. polymer (e.g. chlorinated PE, PVC) with (B) 1-50 pts.wt. of a halogen-based flame retardant (e.g. perchloropentacyclodecane), (C) 0.5-30 pts.wt. of antimony trioxide and (D) 0.5-30 pts.wt. of zinc sulfide or zinc oxide.
