Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent fluorescent screen without causing a deformed shape by softened paste, when forming the fluorescent screen after a process to dry the phosphor paste painted and filled in a cell space.
SOLUTION: This fluorescent screen forming method includes a process to leave phosphor paste throughout the wall surface of a rib and the bottom surface of a cell, by painting and filling the phosphor paste in a cell space divided by the rib and by vaporizing organic solvent in the phosphor paste after a drying process, and the drying process is carried out by vacuum drying. If the inside of a chamber 11 is vacuumed by a vacuum pump P in a condition that a substrate G, on which the phosphor paste filled in the cell space and is not yet dried, is sealed by covering the chamber 11, the organic solvent in the paste is vaporized and dried. Since heat is not applied, the paste does not drop during drying.
