Abstract:
To provide a foil transfer apparatus for transferring foil to a long medium, which can suppress the fluctuation in tension of the medium when the foil is transferred.SOLUTION: In a foil transfer device 1, foil transfer rollers 29, 30 constituting a transfer roller pair 7 for transferring foil to a medium 2 by pressing a foil transfer sheet 3 to the medium 2 after an adhesive is applied are driven rollers which rotate following the medium 2 conveyed by a medium conveyance mechanism 6. A motor of a medium take-up mechanism 34 for taking up the medium 2 after the foil is transferred drives regardless of whether or not the medium conveyance mechanism 6 conveys the medium when transferring the foil to the medium 2. In the medium take-up mechanism 34, a torque limiter arranged in a power transmission path from the motor to the roll-shape medium 33 idles the motor with respect to the roll-shape medium 33 when torque transmitted to the roll-shape medium 33 from the motor exceeds a prescribed value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
