PURPOSE: To manufacture a pigment filter type fluorescent screen by the simple high-productivity process by utilizing a water-soluble high polymer compound having the characteristic that it is undissolved at a high temperature or gelatinized at a low temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Sequences of the coating processes are combined for aqueous solutions of two water-soluble polymer compounds consisting of a water-soluble high polymer compound having the characteristic that it is not dissolved at a high temperature or gelatinized at a low temperature and another water-soluble polymer compound. The second layer paint film is formed on the first layer paint film under the temperature condition that the first layer paint film is not dissolved. A blue luminescence phosphor paint film 7 having a blue pigment filter layer 6 on the lower layer is formed on the inner face of the faceplate 1 of a color cathode-ray tube, and phosphor fitting positions are exposed, for example. The paint film 7 is spray-developed to form blue luminescence phosphor dots having the layer 6 on the lower layer. The similar process is applied to the green pigment, and a fluorescent screen having pigment filter layers on the lower layer can be manufactured on the inner face of the faceplate 1 by the simple process.
