Title:
FORMATION OF PATTERN ON WOODEN BASE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02273582
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a beautiful pattern on a wooden base material and to enhance hardness by using ultraviolet curable paint containing a titanocene compound as a photo-reaction initiator as a masking agent.

CONSTITUTION: Transparent or opaque ultraviolet curable paint containing a titanocene compound as a photo-reaction initiator is partially applied to the surface of a wooden base material such as a floor or a door patternwise and subsequently irradiated with ultraviolet rays to cure the formed film. Further, a transparent colorant is applied to the entire surface of the base material but the one on the ultraviolet curable paint film is removed before drying. Since the ultraviolet curable paint containing the titanocene compound excellent in curability is used as a masking agent as mentioned above, a pattern not dissolved by and contaminated with the colorant and having no color irregularity can be formed.
