PURPOSE: To prevent a poor thread binding by a knotter generated when the passage is not same, by carrying out the movement of both thread ends to a working area of the knotter and the binding of both thread ends by the knotter, while the middle parts of the thread ends extended from feeding bodies held by a feeding means are maintained to a holding means.

CONSTITUTION: When a transfer tail is formed, the movement of both thread ends to the working area of a knotter 64, and the binding of the thread ends by the knotter 64 are carried out while the middle parts of a pair of thread ends extending from a pair of feeding bodies 12 which are held by a feeding means through a holding means 22 are maintained to the holding means 22. As a result, it is made possible to move both thread ends to the working area of the knotter 64 making the middle parts of the thread ends held by both holding members 22 as the practical separating parts of the thread ends from both feeding bodies. Consequently, the extending passages of the thread ends in the working area of the knotter 64 when the transfer tail is formed can be made the same actually, as to each feeding body 12.
