To provide a method for freeze pulverization and vacuum drying of waste with excellent energy efficiency and system for the method.

The method for freeze pulverization and vacuum drying of waste involves a freeze pulverization step of freezing water-containing waste and pulverizing the waste; a vacuum drying step of decreasing pressure of the waste frozen and pulverized in the freeze pulverization step to approximately vacuum state and sublimating the water contained in the waste in a frozen state; and turning the waste in a low-temperature and low-pressure state to a normal-temperature and normal-pressure state by introducing dry air in a normal-temperature and normal-pressure state to the waste from which the water is removed in the vacuum drying step.
