PURPOSE: To make freshwater from seawater during efficient electric power generation and also to reduce installation space by driving a steam compressor through the operation of an exhaust gas turbine in a steam compression type desalinator with a high temperature exhaust gas of a fuel cell.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature exhaust gas generated by reaction at a cathode of a fuel cell 4 is sent to an exhaust gas turbine 12, wherein energy is recovered to drive an air compressor 10 used for oxidizer and gas supply and simultaneously a steam compressor 23 in the steam compressing system distilling method desalinator II. The exhaust gas from the turbine 12 is exhausted after heat recovery at an air preheater 11 and a heat exchanger 14. With the arrangement, a compact desalinator is realized and the generating set can be installed in a small space in combination with the compact fuel cell.
