To provide a driving system for a pallet conveyor capable of achieving the maximum efficiency of conveyance, avoiding collision between pallets, preventing a pallet driving system from becoming complicated, and making a space occupied by the pallet driving system the minimum.
The module type friction driving system and method used for the pallet conveyor are provided. The driving system has driving assembly bodies arranged at a carrying-in end of the pallet conveyor and on an opposing side face at a carrying-out end. Each driving assembly body is provided with at least one driving unit and at least one winding unit, and these units are mutually connected by a driving belt. One idler unit or more may be arranged between the driving unit and the winding unit. Each driving assembly body is provided with a driving means for pressing the driving belt against a side wall of a conveyor pallet. Preferably, each of the driving unit, the winding unit, and the idler unit is of module type and can be added and removed to/from the driving assembly body independently from the other units.
