Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove carbon dioxide generated in a fuel electrode to enhance electric power in a fuel cell.
SOLUTION: This fuel cell 500 includes a solid electrolyte membrane 114, the fuel electrode 102 and an oxidant electrode 108 provided with the solid electrolyte membrane 114 therebetween, and a fuel chamber 502 for supplying liquid fuel to the fuel electrode 102. A trapping agent 504 is introduced into the fuel chamber 502 to capture carbonate ion. The trapping agent 504 contains a metal cation, and a holding body for holding the metal cation within a fixed area.
