Abstract:
To provide a photochromic compound applicable to information recording materials and display materials.
The photochromic compound is e.g. a ring-opened compound obtained by sulfonating 1-(2-methylbenzofuran-3-yl)-2-(3-methylbenzothiophen-2-yl)perfluorocyclopentene represented by formula (I), or its cyclized compound, or a ring-opened compound obtained by sulfonating 1-(2-propylbenzofuran-3-yl)-2-(2-propylbenzothiophen-3-yl)perfluorocyclopentene, or its cyclized compound, or a ring-opened compound obtained by sulfonating 1,2-bis(2-ethyl-5-phenyl-3-thienyl)perfluorocyclopentene, or its cyclized compound.
