To efficiently recover xenon from a used gas discharge display panel with xenon encapsulated therein, and to prevent the disassembling/segregating operator of an apparatus from inspiring xenon.
The gas discharge display panel is equipped with a gas-adsorption device 1 with a copper-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolite 3 having small holes of diameters ranging from 4.5 to 7.3 Å. In the gas-adsorption device 1, zeolite is blocked into a container 2 comprising a poorly gas-permeable material and openable with a predetermined procedure in a discharging space interposed between first and second substrates and in an air-permeable space. Xenon of a discharged gas in the discharging space is adsorbed into the copper-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolite 3 under an ambient temperature and atmosphere when the container 2 of the gas-adsorption device 1 is opened at the time of disposal of the gas discharge display panel. Therefore, xenon can effectively be collected without being discharged in the air, and the disassembling/segregating operator is prevented from inspiring xenon after disposal.
