Abstract:
To provide an AC PDP(plasma display panel) of high quality with high efficiency at reasonable prices by improving light emitting efficiency keeping the start and maintaining voltages low in a surface discharge AC PDP.
In a panel wherein a space (d) between paired maintaining electrodes 8 and 9 of a surface discharge AC PDP is designed to have a length larger than a conventional one, a transparent electrode 17 of a floating potential is particularly formed in a middle area of the maintaining electrodes 8 and 9, thereby start and maintaining discharge voltages of a display cell can be kept low, its light emitting efficiency can be improved and the AC PDP of high quality, with high efficiency can be attained at a resonable cost.
