To enable a gate body to be opened and closed both inward and outward in a structure as simple as possible.

An L-shaped arm 43 is protrusively arranged in a central position of a gatepost 1a from the inside surface of the gatepost 1a; a supporting shaft 47 of an opening and closing hinge 4 is arranged on the L-shaped arm 43; and a bearing 48 is protrusively arranged in such a manner as to be flush with the upper and lower ends of a stile 21 of a gate body 2. Thus, the opening and closing hinge 4 is constituted as a pivot hinge type; and the gate body 2 can be opened and closed at an angle of the order of 100° both inward and outward, without interference with the L-shaped arm 43. A individually and freely protruding/receding latch bolt 63, and a push plate 66 making the latch bolt 63 simultaneously recede in synchronization with a handle 3 are arranged between the door ends of the gate body 2. The gate body 2 can be opened and closed through the operation of the handle 3, and automatically locked when pushed in a closing direction.
