To obtain a gene encoding a new human trypsin hL dominantly expressing in the lung and useful for developing an indication marker, a medicine or the like for various lung diseases, asthma or the like by making the gene include a DNA comprising a specific base sequence.
This gene contains (A) a DNA comprising a base sequence shown by formula I, or (B) a DNA hybridizing with the DNA comprising the base sequence shown by formula I under the stringent condition and encoding a protein having a serine protease activity. The gene codes for a recombinant protein of (C) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence shown by formula II, or (D) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence, wherein one or plural amino acids in the amino acid sequence shown by formula II are deleted, substituted or added, and having a serine protease activity. A serine protease is obtained by culturing a host cell comprising colon bacillus containing a recombinant vector including the gene, such as C 600 (p Trypsin-hL) (FERM- BP-6607).
