In a geographical document search system 1, a keyword registration unit 201 registers a search keyword in a keyword DB 211. A position information acquisition unit 202 measures a present position of a user. A search management unit 203 determines the necessity of a search of a geographical document based on relations between a measured present position and a time thereof and a time of the previous search, and a position at the time point thereof. If the search is determined to be necessary, the search management unit 203 makes an inquiry to a geographical information search system 100 on a search condition based on the search keyword extracted from the keyword DB 211 and the present position measured by the position information acquisition unit 202. The search management unit 203 outputs a search result from the geographical information search system 100 in accordance with the inquiry to an information notification unit 204, thereby notifying the result to the user.
