Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancell ghost with a hardware of a small capacity by detecting a video signal transmission channel characteristic based on a ghost reference signal and using a corresponding canonical signed digit code(CSD) filter coefficient.
SOLUTION: A video signal with ghost is given to a synchronization and field identifier separator, where a ghost reference signal period is detected by using a window pulse generator 13 or the like so as to separate a ghost reference signal from the video signal. A count and control signal generator 17 decides a characteristic of a video signal transmission channel based on the ghost reference signal and a filter coefficient of a corresponding CSD coefficient is extracted from a coefficient storage device 20 and fed to a ghost elimination device 15, in which a ghost component in the video signal is cancelled. Thus, ghost in the video signal is cancelled with a hardware of a small capacity.
