To provide a golf ball softer than a conventional golf ball made of a general composite, excellent in spinning performance and capable of providing a large flying distance.
In a solid type golf ball formed of a core 1a and a cover 1b covering the core 1a, at least one of the part excluding an outside cover 1b situated on the outermost side is formed of a composite obtained by mixing 3-25 parts by weight of α,β-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid and 5-50 parts by weight of fatty acid bismuth to 100 parts by weight of an organic polymer material forming the, base. Since various golf balls having different performances can be manufactured by selectively using the above composite in each part of the ball, golf balls suitable to golfers of all grades can be provided.
