Abstract:

To obtain a granular bactericide for disinfecting bacteria such as bacteria of the genus Legionella, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, etc., to be regarded harmful in water in the public health aspect for a long period of time, and to provide a method for producing the same and a water treatment method using the granular bactericide.

The granular bactericide includes a bactericidal composition composed of metal powder and an acidic substance. The method for producing the granular bactericide has a process for preparing the bactericidal composition by mixing metal powder with an acidic substance and a process for granulating the bactericidal composition. The water treatment method includes immersing the granular bactericide in a water tank, hot spring, warm water or cold water filled in a bath or a swimming pool.
