Abstract:

To provide a graphite material as an electrode material of a secondary battery excellent in charge-discharge cycle characteristics and high-current load characteristics.

This graphite material is such that: when 200 locations in a rectangular area of 6 μm by 8 μm are arbitrarily selected on the graphite material surface image observed by a scanning electron microscope, cylindrical pores, which have an opening part shape with a diameter of 15 nm to 200 nm, roundness of 0.75 to 1.0, and a major axis/minor axis ratio of 1.0 to 1.5, are visible on the surface of the graphite material that appears in the area in at least two locations.
