Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63295169
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To grind deeply the side of each needle of a card clothing and prevent dispersion of the height of the needle tip by implanting hairs having abrasive grains on the surfaces on the circumferential side faces of a drum-shaped roller in a brush state and by constituting these hairs from a material with good flexibility compared with metal needles.

CONSTITUTION: A needle cloth 2 is attached to a top bar 3 at the periphery of a rotary drum 1, and a pair of grinders 4 for card clothing are furnished on the sides of this rotary drum 1. A number of bundles hairs 9 are implanted a brush state on the periphery of a drum-shaped roller 8 of grinder 4 and each hair 9 is equipped with a number of fine abrasive grains. Because more flexible than metal needles, these brush-shaped hairs 9 deflect when come in contact with the needles in grinding, and perform grinding of the side faces of them while passing through the needles. The hairs will never bend or fold the needles even though they intrude deeply in the needles, and perform grinding in good contact.
