Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinder and a grinding method capable of keeping form accuracy of a workpiece for a long time and extending a correction interval of a grindstone.SOLUTION: In a grinder cylindrically grinding a workpiece W by traverse feed, a first straight section 71a parallel to a workpiece rotation axis is provided at one end of an outer peripheral surface and a second straight section 72a having a larger diameter than that of the first straight section 71a is provided at the other end. The first straight section 71a is composed of a grinder suitable for rough grinding. As the second straight section 72a, a grinding wheel 7 composed of a grinder suitable for finishing grinding is used. In the traverse feed, feed amount to be fed during one rotation of the workpiece W is made smaller than a width of the first straight section 71a, and the feeding is performed so that the first straight section 71a moves ahead.
