PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permanently realize the smooth rolling condition of a work roller while preventing meaningless complicated constitution in the case of forming an inside diameter groove on an inner circumference of a cylindrical body as designed. SOLUTION: A grooving device comprises a guide member 1 which is inserted and placed in a cylindrical body C and provided with a flat guide surface 1c along the axial direction of the cylindrical body C, a slide member 5 which is placed on the guide surface 1c of the guide member 1 and movable in the axial direction of the cylindrical body C by the external force action, a work roller which is connected to the slide member 5 through a rotary shaft 3 and supported in a relatively displaceable manner at least in the radial direction of the cylindrical body C, and an operation rod 4 a tip part 4a of which is connected to the rotary shaft 3 to pivotably support the work roller 2, and a base end operation part of which is extended outward of the cylindrical body C.
