Title:
HAIR DYE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2700764
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a slurry-like hair dye containing a dye and a water-soluble polymer in high concentrations, readily soluble in water, with the dye and the polymer dispersed homogeneously, and causing no sedimentation or liquid phase oozing.
CONSTITUTION: This hair dye comprises (a) 0.1-30wt.% of an acid dye (e.g. Red No.2, Yellow No.401), (b) 40-80wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. glycerol), (c) 1-10wt.% of a higher alcohol (e.g. oleyl alcohol), fatty acid (e.g. lauric acid), or fatty acid ester (e.g. a cetyl alcohol ester), (d) a water-soluble polymer (e.g. sodium alginate), and (e) 0-20wt.% of water. The water of ≤20wt.% improves the solubility of this hair dye in a diluent. The lesser the amount of the water to be formulated, more preferable is the formulation, and no water is most preferable. When the hair dye is mixed with a diluent (e.g. purified water), it turns pasty with a moderate viscosity, and the mixing weight ratio of this hair dye to a diluent is set at (10:1) to (1:20).
