PURPOSE: To perform getting on and off or a movement of passengers safely by arranging moving handrails in a moving footpath accelerated and decelerated by sliding respective pallets mutually in the lateral direction in positions closer to the center side than the outermost line of a locus on treads of the pallets.
CONSTITUTION: The number of persons getting on a pallet 1 at a getting on and off point is set in two persons or a single wheelchair at its maximum by narrowing an interval between moving handrails 2 as shown by a cross section D-D. This is set narrower than a locus of X or Y. Thereby, passengers can surely grasp the moving handrails. Since the handrails limit a triangular part 3 small even for the passengers getting on the triangular part 3 created on the pallet 1 in a high speed area, even if they shaft to a low speed area, they are guided to the center side of the pallet 1 by the handrails, so that the whole persons can grasp either left or right handrail. In addition, in order to use a lateral width W of an entrance tread wide to a lateral interval Po between the moving handrails 2, a waist plate 4 is considered so that toes of the passengers do not touch it or are not pulled in it according to travel of the pallet 1 by widening the foot side as shown by the cross section D-D, E-E.
