PURPOSE: To attain synergistic effect of a nutrient component and a drug component by instantaneously freezing a cleaned live soft-shelled turtle, roughly crushing the frozen body, sterilizing and drying the crushed material, pulverizing in liquid nitrogen, compounding a crude drug component to the obtained soft- shelled turtle powder and filling the mixture in a capsule.

CONSTITUTION: A live soft-shelled turtle is starved for ≥2 days and exterior part as well as interior part of the soft-shelled turtle is cleaned. The cleaned soft-shelled turtle is instantaneously frozen, roughly crushed, sterilized by instantaneous high-pressure sterilization and freeze-dried to a water content of ≤4%. The dried product is instantaneously frozen by immersing in liquid nitrogen and the whole body of the soft-shelled turtle is pulverized to ultrafine powder finer than 200 mesh in nitrogen gas atmosphere at ≤-50°C. The soft-shelled turtle powder produced by the above process is compounded with a crude drug component such as Panax ginseng and the mixture is filled in a gelatin capsule of 2-6mm diameter to obtain the objective health food.
