PURPOSE: To provide a compound having extremely low melt viscosity and very high softening point after cure, and suitable as a casting insulation material of a high-performance high-tension transformer of, e.g. a copying machine, by compounding a thermosetting resin to a solid asphalt.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of a solid straight asphalt having a viscosity of ≤1,000 cps at 150°C is compounded with 0.05W2pts.wt. of a stabilizer, and 100pts.wt. of the obtained mixture is compounded with 100W300pts.wt. of a thermosetting resin composition, 10W30pts.wt. of a bisamide, 20W40pts.wt. of a phthalic acid ester, and 100W150pts.wt. of an inorganic filler. The thermosetting resin is preferably a resin containing epoxy resin as the base resin and an aromatic amine or an acid anhydride as a hardener.
