To obtain a heat transfer apparatus which provides a large transfer area and is a small installation area type/lightweight/inexpensive and wherein heating time can be freely set by using a heat transfer mechanism provided with a heating roller a take-up roller being rotatable freely in the regular and reverse directions and a press belt being brought into close contact with their outer peripheral parts and running.

A heating roller 1 and a take-up roller 2 are freely rotatable in the regular and reverse directions respectively by means of a motor-driven motor. As a press belt 3 being hung over both rollers 1 and 2 under a condition where both ends are fixed is brought into close contact with the heating roller 1 under a specified tension by their rotating forces, a required uniform pressure of the belt is applied on a set of a transfer paper and a body to be transferred placed between the heating roller 1 and the press belt 3. It is possible by this mechanism to obtain a heat transfer mechanism which does not require such a tough structure as a flat pressing system even through it has a large transfer area and provides a lightweight heat transfer mechanism wherein only a cylindrical roller and a press belt are necessary. In addition, as it can be stopped at any time, it is possible to set an arbitrary heating time.
