Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional ceramic heater that it lacks dimensional stability because the periphery is ceramic, and thereby transmission of heat to a heated body is worsened, while furthermore it is weak for thermal shock, and although it is considerable to put the whole of the ceramic body inside of a metal cylinder, heat transmission is bad because complete adhesion is impossible between the ceramic body and the metal cylinder.SOLUTION: A ceramic heater constituting a step by reducing the outer diameter on the extension side of an electrode is built in a metal cylinder. One opening of the metal cylinder has a diameter intermediate of two diameters with which the ceramic heater forming the step, the gap between the metal cylinder and ceramic heater is filled with metal powder, and the other opening of the metal cylinder is sealed by means of a screw.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
