PURPOSE: To obtain a high-impact composite material which can be used for a bulletproof vest or the like improved in bulletproofness and in reducing the impact on the back side.

CONSTITUTION: This composite material is prepd. by aligning high-strength fibers having strengths of 20g/denier or higher in one direction, aligning other high-strength fibers having strengths of 20g/denier or higher in a direction with a cross angle of 30-90° to the direction of the former fibers, and covering both the aligned fibers with a matrix resin having a tensile modulus of 6.0-20.0kg/mm2.
