Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-impact thermoplastic molding compsn. excellent in impact strength without using an arom. polycarbonate by compounding a mixture comprising a polyether sulfone and a polyalkylene terephthalate with a granular cross-linked diene or acrylate rubber grafted with a specific monomer component.

CONSTITUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by blending 5-99 pts.wt., esp. 50-90 pts.wt., arom. polyether sulfone, 1-99 pts.wt., esp. 10-50 pts.wt., thermoplastic polyalkylene terephthalate, and 1-60 pts.wt., pref. 3-40 pts.wt., graft copolymer prepd. by grafting 5-90 pts.wt. monomer component onto 10-95 pts.wt. crosslinked diene or acrylate rubber (having an average particle size of 0.05-1 μm and a gel content of 50 wt.% or higher). The monomer component comprises 20-99 pts.wt. methyl methacrylate, 1-40 pts.wt. 2-20C aliph. alcohol, and optionally 0.1-10 pts.wt. t-butyl (meth)acrylate and 0.1-30 pts.wt. mixture of styrene, acrylonitrile, maleic anhydride, etc.
