Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high speed steel having excellent high hardness and corrosion resistance and suitable for a gear cutting tool by making an alloy composition made of a specific composition prepared by combining W, No, V and Co. SOLUTION: The high speed steel contains by wt.% C ≤2.4-3.9, Mn of up to 0.8, Si of up to 0.8, Cr of 3.75-4.75, W of 9.0-11.5, Mo of 4.75-10.75, V of 4.0-10.0, Co of 8.5-16.0, selectively existing Nb of 2.0-4.0 and balance Fe. This composition contains preferably C≤2.6-3.5, Cr of 3.75-4.75, W of 9.0-11.5, Mo of 9.50-10.75, V of 4.0-6.0, Co of 14.00-16.00 and Nb of 2.0-4.0. More preferably C≤3.0-3.3, Mn of max. 0.5, Si of max. 0.5, Cc of 4.2-4.6, W of 10.5-11.0, Mo of 1.0-10.5, V of 5.0-5.5, Co of 14.5-15.0 and Nb of 2.8-3.2.
