Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a descaling device of a thickness press which is capable of surely removing from a slab surface a primary scale on a slab or a lower die and a secondary scale grown after removing the primary scale, and preventing degradation of the surface quality of a material by the scale.
SOLUTION: A thickness press provided with a pair of dies 2a, 2b provided opposite to each other in a vertical direction across a slab 1 and an oscillating device which is provided on each die to longitudinally oscillate the die with respect to the slab, is provided with an upper surface side injection nozzle 12 which is located on the upstream side of the upper die to inject a fluid at high speed between the upper die and the upper surface of the slab and a lower surface side injection nozzle 14 which is located on the downstream side of the lower die to inject the fluid at high speed between the lower die and the lower surface of the slab.
