PURPOSE: To obtain a micro-light spot in a wide scanning area on a screen by disposing a cylindrical lens converging in the hologram displacing direction in reference light in the stage of hologram recording.
CONSTITUTION: A hologram scanner is made by interfering object light and reference light which are mutually coherent and recording said light. If illuminating light is irradiated to the hologram and the hologram is moved parallelly by conducting the diffracted light to a screen 2, it is optically scanned in p/f multiplication on the screen. In order to prevent the spread of the light spot owing to astigmatism and curvature of field, cylindrical lenses 9-1, 9-2 are inserted into reference light. At this time, a hologram recording material is placed in the X-Y plane inclusive of an origin O. The lenses 9-1, 9-2 are of an afocal system, and generate the deviation δx in focus on account of the spherical aberration of the lens 9-1 and therefore it is possible to correct the astigmatism during scanning.
