To provide a horizontal-stripe solid oxide type fuel battery cell stack and others, in which a solid electrolyte layer covering an end portion on the side of a fuel gas outlet and an inner surface of a gas passage in the vicinity of the outlet is less prone to being destroyed.
The horizontal-stripe solid oxide type fuel battery cell stack 1a includes: an electrically insulative porous supporting body 11 having therein a fuel gas passage 12 extending along its longitudinal direction, a gas inlet at one end, and a fuel gas outlet 27 at the other end and including Ni and/or NiO; a plurality of fuel battery cells 13 arrayed along the longitudinal direction of the porous supporting body 11 to form a power generation region 26, and each having an inner electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layer and an outer electrode layer stacked on the porous supporting body in turn; and a non-power generation region 25 composed of an end portion of the porous supporting body located on the side of the other end and covered with the solid electrolyte layer 13b. The Ni content of the porous supporting body in at least a leading end portion of the non-power generation region in terms of NiO is smaller than the Ni content of the porous supporting body in the power generation region in terms of NiO.
