This hosiery is formed by knitting the first knitting yarn 7, the second knitting yarn 8 having a color different from that of the first knitting yarn 7, and an insertion elastic yarn 9, and has a jacquard pattern. The jacquard pattern-appearing courses of the hosiery are knitted, while the feeding quantities of the first knitting yarn 7, the second knitting yarn 8 and the insertion elastic yarn 9 are each independently changed approximately for each course. In the jacquard pattern-appearing course, the ground tissue is formed from the knitted stitches of the first knitting yarn 7, and the jacquard pattern is formed from the knitted stitches of the second knitting yarn 8. In a site where the stitches are formed from the first knitting yarn 7, the second knitting yarn 8 does not form the stitches, and runs on the back surface of the stitches formed from the second knitting yarn 7. In a site where stitches are formed from the first knitting yarn 8, the second knitting yarn 7 does not form the stitches, and runs on the back surface of the stitches formed from the second knitting yarn 8.
