To provide a drying method for a cement burning apparatus and high water-content organic waste, surely preventing explosion and choking of a drying apparatus, and efficiently drying high water-content organic waste without lowering heat efficiency of a cement kiln.
A cement burning apparatus 1 includes a crushing air current drier 7 to which combustion gas bled from an exhaust gas passage extending from an output duct of a calcination furnace 4 of the cement kiln 2 to an output duct of a pre-heater 3 is supplied, and which dries high water-content organic waste W containing moisture by 40 mass% while crushing it. Since the combustion gas has low oxygen concentration as much as 2-8%, there is no risk of explosion, and the temperature of the combustion gas is about 450-900°C, it can be well used for drying. The outlet exhaust gas temperature T of the crushing air current drier 7 is detected, and compared with a preset value T1 to control the quantity of high water-content organic waste supplied and the drying heating value, so that the high water-content organic waste can be dried more safely and efficiently.
