PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid cutting tool, a chip transporting portion and a process for producing the cutting tool.SOLUTION: There is provided a cutting tool (10), in particular a drill or a milling cutter, having a shank (16) and a chip transporting portion (18), which receives a cutting insert. The cutting tool (10) is a hybrid composite body. Furthermore, the chip transporting portion (18) for the cutting tool (10) and also a process for producing the cutting tool (10) are described.
