Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy storage system of high energy efficiency wherein a loss occurring when a rotational energy is converted for storage is minimized for electric-power output in various modes, especially suitable for collecting a natural fluid energy and converting it into an electric power for energy storage. SOLUTION: A flywheel comprising a rotor 6 with multi-layer conductor developed which is connected to a rotary mechanism 1 through rotary transmission mechanisms 2 and 4 for accumulating a rotary energy, a superconducting coil 9 wherein a magnetic flux acting vertically to the rotational plane of the rotor 6 is generated while the rotary energy is stored as an electromagnetic energy through a flux pump 8, are provided. Here, DC current is taken out from both the rotor 6 and superconducting coil 9.
