PURPOSE: To omit call back by performing ascending operation on the condition of a safety device being on the safe side at the time of reclosing a main breaker when a cage descends lower than the normal level and the main breaker is tripped to block restart.
CONSTITUTION: When a cage stops descending lower than the normal level, the driven level of the cage is detected and the state of the cage is memorized, as well as a restart blocking means is energized to block the driving of the cage, a main breaker is manually tripped, and this state is memorized. When a safety confirming means confirms that a safety device is on the safe side even if the main breaker is reclosed, the main breaker is closed through a redriving means. The redriving means, taking precedence over the restart blocking means, outputs an ascent command to a hydraulic drive unit so as to move the cage up to the specified position. As a result, call back on all such occasions becomes unnecessary, and driving efficiency is therefore improved.
