To provide a hydrophilic polymer capable of providing a hydrophilic member that has higher safety by reducing an amount of a monomer which remains in the hydrophilic polymer to be not more than a definite amount, and excels in hydrophilicity, water resistance, and adhesion to a surface of a base material, and to provide a method for producing the hydrophilic polymer, a hydrophilic membrane composition, and the hydrophilic member using it.
This hydrophilic polymer has a structure represented by general formula (I-1) and (I-2), in which the amount of the residual monomer is 3.0 mass%. In general formula (I-1) and (I-2), R201 to R205 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group, q is an integer of 1-3, L201 and L202 are each independently a single bond or a polyvalent organic linking group, and A201 is a specific substituent.
