To provide a hydrophobic polymer incompatible with starch containing, as a filler, a starch complex in the form of particles having a very small size.
The hydrophobic polymer incompatible with starch includes, as a filler, a starch complex dispersed in the polymeric matrix in the form of particles with a numerical average size of less than 3 μm and the starch complex is characterized by a second derivative IR absorption in the region of 940-952 cm-1 and is bound to the polymeric matrix by means of coupling agents containing groups compatible with the matrix and the complex or by means of reactive groups present in the starch complex capable of being fixed to the polymeric matrix. The starch complex in a biodegradable polymer such as an aliphatic or aliphatic-aromatic polyester is formed by using a complexing agent different from the matrix-forming polymer and EVOH copolymers.
