NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is H, alkanoyl or substituted alkanoyl; R2 is alkanoyl, substituted lower alkanoyl or substituted lower alkyl; m is 3-7) and its salt.
USE: It has lipoxygenase inhibiting action and is useful as a remedy and preventive for various diseases caused by lipoxygenase metabolic product, e.g., brouchial asthma, various allergic diseases, infirm cardiopathy, hypertension, arteriosclerosis and ischemic cerebral disorder.
PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I is produced by (1) reacting amino alcohol with an acid chloride or acid anhydride in the presence of a base, (2) reacting the resultant amide alcohol in the presence of triphenyl phosphine and N-bromosuccinimide to obtain the compound of formula II, (3) reacting the compound with (Z)-2-furaldehyde oxime and (4) reacting with hydroxylamine hydrochloride.
