NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkoxy or hydroxy; R3 is lower alkoxy, amino or lower alkylamino; m and n are 1W4; excluding the case that both R1 and R2 are lower alkoxy and n is 1).
EXAMPLE: 3-[[2-]]2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl]amino]-2-oxoethyl]-amino]-N- methylbenzamide.
USE: An antiulcer agent.
PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II (R5 and R6 are lower alkoxy or benzyloxy) with a compound of formula III in an organic solvent (e.g., chloroform) or in the absence of solvent at 40W80°C and reacting the resultant compound of formula IV with BBr3 in a solvent (e.g., dichloromethane) at a temperature between ice-cooling temperature and the boiling point of the solvent.
