PURPOSE: To produce a rust preventive oil for removing solid lubricating surface treating on the surface of a steel sheet by incorporating a specific ratio of phthalic ester based or phosphoric ester based plasticizer to a base oil.

CONSTITUTION: The rust preventive oil is prepared by adding 5-30 pts.wt. mixture of tricresyl phosphate, triphenyl phosphate, tributyl phosphate, diethyl phthalate or tricresyl phosphate with triphenyl phosphate or mixture of tricresyl phosphate with dibutyl phthalate into 100 pts.wt. base oil. When the rust preventive oil is applied on the solid lubricating surface treated steel sheet, the plasticizer in the rust preventive oil dissolves and removes the lubricating surface treating from the steel sheet and at the time of being coated with an adhesive, the steel sheet exhibits excellent adhesive power to a base material and is stuck strongly to the base material.
